Hi! My name is Caitlin, and I am the owner of Wild Acre!

Wild Acre is a one acre Urban Farm and Licensed Native Plant Nursery located in Lexington, OH. We specialize in native Ohio wildflowers, grasses, shrubs, wildflower seed bombs and native seeds, along with vegetable and flower starts in the spring and summer. In addition to plants, we offer small batch specialty jams, jellies, and baked goods - using locally sourced, clean ingredients. We also carry local honey and other seasonal items from our garden including produce, garlic bouquets, dried florals, and more!

Why native plants? Incorporating native plants in your gardens and landscapes have many benefits including:

• Reducing the need for watering, pesticides, and fertilizers

• Increasing soil health

• Reducing erosion

• Providing habitat for pollinators & increasing biodiversity

Our goal is to provide you the tools to become good stewards and restore our lands into functional, healthy habitats for our native pollinators and wildlife.

As you can see, we have a huge focus on sustainability and soil health here at our farm. All of our plants and vegetables are grown chemical free - zero pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers are used. A few of our other sustainable practices include:

• Using biodegradable pots for our plant starts

• Jar/pot return program

• Making & utilizing our own compost

• Companion planting

• Incorporating native plants throughout our gardens to help increase biodiversity

In addition to all of the above, we are certified & registered by Monarch Watch as an official Monarch Waystation, and we are proudly Pollinator Steward Certified 🌱🦋
