Brown-Eyed Susan is a short-lived perennial or biennial. It features an abundance of small, golden-yellow flowers with dark brown centers, blooming profusely from midsummer to fall. The plant is valued for its airy, branching habit and its ability to self-seed, making it a reliable presence in gardens.

•Sun Requirements: Full sun to partial shade

•Soil Preferences: Adaptable; thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soil but tolerates poor soil and drought conditions

Host Insect:

Silvery Checkerspot (Chlosyne nycteis), which uses it as a larval host plant.

Supports various native bees, butterflies, and moths.

Ecological Importance:
